We want to remain fluid with number of heats between divisions to cater for the demand. If demand is greater in one division than others we will adjust heat numbers as necessary so get your entries in ASAP … it’s first in best dressed.

Registration is at the Noosa Reef Hotel again this year, starting at 5.30pm Friday 9th June. The Reef is on the crest of Noosa Drive just as you head down the hill to Hastings Street and you’ll find us upstairs on the terrace. Register, collect your competitor bag, and join your friends for a drink.
Club President Glen Gower and Contest Director Gordon Fuz will provide the briefing at around 6.30pm and will try to keep it quick. Meals and bevies are available at the venue for those who want to carry on afterward. Look in your competitors bag for your discounted meal voucher.
The contest will be a two-day event and we are running 6-man heats. Each competitor will have the opportunity to surf at least twice. Keep an eye on the running order and progressions to ensure you’re on time for your heats. Surfing begins 7am Saturday and Sunday.
Meet at 6.30am at First Point each day to find out where the comp will be held. If the comp is moved to Access 11 in the Woods or Access 40 at Castaways Beach, a notice will be left at the car park to direct stragglers. Surfing finishes about 4.30pm on Saturday and 2.30pm Sunday. Preso’s start around 3.30pm Sunday.
Peer judging format is the same as previous years. Judge a heat – miss a heat – surf a heat. It works when everyone participates and it gives you a chance to familiarize yourself with conditions before it’s your turn to hit the water. Judging criteria has been posted on the website. A good knowledge of these will ensure your judging is reliable and, to your benefit, increase your own scoring potential through an understanding of what the judges are looking for!
We’ll try to get the Heat Draw on the website a couple of days prior to the comp.
This refers to the board, not the rider, and your chosen craft should be pre 1968. Please let us know if you need to borrow a suitable board for this event and Darryl Homan will see what he can arrange.
Breakfast and lunch
Complimentary breakfast and light lunch are provided for each competitor each day. Please don’t expect more than your share as those in the water or about to surf their heats may miss out. If you enjoy it, which you undoubtedly will, say thanks to Susie and her fabulous team of helpers.
Beware! Much of the parking in Hastings Street is 2 hours only and the inspectors are ruthless! The Lions Park (opposite Halse Lodge) and The Woods area are all day parking and the Noosa Heads Surf Club car park and the public car park beside the Emerald have a three-hour limit.
You are going to want to win one of these so make sure you know how to lock in those high scoring rides.
Looking forward to another fantastic weekend of socialising & surfing…
